Sharing ideas, dishes, and destinations
A better way to gather and share all kinds of things
There are loads of ways to use new.space. We’ve mentioned a few. Lately, I’ve been preparing for my mom to visit Berlin for the first time and it has been a task that is perfectly suited for new.space, let me show you.
Cleaning up the chat
When we started planning this trip, we were sharing links back and forth in a chat. This is fast, accurate and mostly frictionless. The challenge comes approximately ~20 messages later when that URL is way beyond the current scroll position. Add a few days and another 50 messages and this link is lost to the nether realm. We spun up a space to create a visual bookmark of the good stuff and make it easier to grab those links when we want them.
Pick the favs
My mom’s trip isn’t too long, so it’s important we hit the tourist stuff that she wants to see and experience. For that reason, we picked out a few highlights and let her just pick out some that we can plan for and then have a few others as stretch goals. How does one plan to just try one curry wurst place?
Good eats and treats
Traveling with dietary restrictions isn’t fun. So we’ve been doing some prep in another Space gathering up some restaurants that would be good options while we are out in the city. We asked some friends for recommendations as well and just linked this Space in the main one so that we can easily reach it. Excited to try a few of these.
Using new.space to plan this trip made everything a little bit easier. It is a nicer way of getting an overview of what has been shared back and forth and to pull up la list of where to eat when we are out and about (without having to hungry-scroll a long chat). After the trip, you can bet we’ll share a Space together to collect all the photos from the trip, but we’ll get to that later. Thanks for reading, and as always, happy sharing.
Hi. I think the idea of Shareup is super cool, but I do not understand why it is not permanent. I think it would be a good idea to create permanent accounts with ephemeral options. A permanent account can be useful to keep elements I am always needing to share with others, verbigratia, Brand assets or PDFs or small Portfolio. If a permanent account exists maybe it is possible to give custom domains to the Shareup spaces and create Instant Portfolios!™ or Instant Websites™ (they are not trademarked, it is a joke). I get the idea of a custom space without the hassle of creating a whiteboard (as Miro or Canva, etc), but it is Usefulest™ a permanent space. I do not know the technicalities of the decision of transient spaces, like costs and techs. Well, those were my 2 cents. I hope it will be the Usefulest™
