Our latest feature launch is: sort items by recency or by name β both in new.space for iOS and on the web in your browser π
The default sorting is still most recent at the top, oldest at the bottom, just like before.
New, in the top right menu youβll now find more options:
Sort by name, ascending: A β Z
And reversed by name too: Z β A
Flip the recency order: oldest first, most recent last
Personally, I love to use this to turn a space into a little slide deck: I number my images, pdfs, and documents 10, 20, 30, etc. I like to leave some room for a possible 15 if I need to slot a new thing quickly in-between 10 and 20 π
Checkout this space I made, and sort it by name:
I love that I can include images, a PDF, some links, and it all just worksβ’ Itβs easier than building a real presentation.
Get your space organized by name by renaming your items πͺβοΈ
On your computer you can click any fileβs name in the grid to rename it. No more Untitled Document (1)!
On iOS you can long press on an item, then choose Rename from the menu.
Sorting is currently temporary β returning to a space after a while will be back to the default sort β and is not shared with others, it only sorts for you on your device.
And we want to hear from you: does sorting fit into your use case for new.space? How can we make it even better? What other attributes do you want to be able to sort by?

Someone just introduced me to new.space earlier this week. As someone who needs to securely share files with others, I've bounced between using tools like WeTransfer, ToffeeShare, and Dropbox as methods. However, I have a few complaints about each, and New.Space seems to be a solid solution from what I've seen so far.
In layperson's terms, could you comment on how new.space's file security compares to some of these other services? Thanks so much.
I like Safariβs feature to reorder tabs based on their URL. Could link items in new.space be sorted by URL, just like Safari?
