In the past month, we’ve been working to improve the overall experience of the detail view in new.space. Check out today’s video where we go into some of the important changes.
In addition to the changes outlined above, we’ve also made loads of fixes and improvements, here are a few:
New: Downloading multiple files now zips them together. We wrote a bit about it here:
Also, links can be downloaded as shortcuts as well
Fixed: Opening links in Safari should work more consistently now
Fixed: Downloading indicator no longer clips in the grid layout
Improved: The copy link icon has been swapped out for a better one
New: Added preview-only support for “read only” spaces. These are special spaces that can be shared where only the owner can add & remove items in the space. These are not currently available for all users, but let us know if this is something you are interested in trying! You can test some out here:
Improved: PDFs should now more consistently render in a correct manner.
Fixed: Worldle cards are now sized correctly. (Did you know we have Wordle cards? Try pasting in your score to share it with others!)
New: Added
apple-touch-icon
, which allows folks to add new.space to your homescreen on an iOS device. Try it out!
This is just some of the improvements we’ve made in the last month. As mentioned in the video, there are also a lot of performance improvements that should make the app feel quite snappy. If you've been using new.space, and have some ideas about things you want to see in a list like this in the future, let us know in the comments here! Also, if you haven't yet tried new.space and need an access code, write us here as well and we'll get you set up and running.
Till next time, happy sharing 👋
Hello, could you change the behavior when clicking a new.space link inside a space? Currently it will open in the same tab so the original space will be replaced, but I prefer it opening in a new tab and keeping the original space in the old tab.
