I’ve always wanted January 2nd to be the first day of spring. After all the holiday celebrations and ringing in the new year we are left with only (to us in the northern hemisphere): cold. But unlike the weather outside, I’m warmed by looking at the list of what is coming up this year for new.space. Let's get into it:
The new.space for iOS beta
We’ve been sharing and teasing info on the beta for some time now and we are just applying the last important bits so that the rollout is as smooth as possible. In preparation of that, here is how the beta will happen: All subscribers to this newsletter will get an email with a link to TestFlight, Apple's beta service, that will give you access. If you want to get a head start, you can already prepare by downloading the TestFlight app from Apple to be ready to go the minute it is ready.

Remember, you have to be subscribed to get the email (which will be sent out within the coming weeks).
Accounts
Part of what makes the new.space for iOS beta so exciting is it introduces the concept of “Accounts” for new.space. Perhaps not the most fist pumping sounding feature, nevertheless this is going to be amazing because it unlocks the ability for you to collect, organize, and have an overview of all your Spaces. This feature will launch first on iOS and will follow soon after on the web, so that you can instantly share and sync your content between devices. We think you are going to love it.
Notes, Today View, and Expanded Storage
Since launching the new.space beta, some of the most requested features have been: larger space limits for Spaces and the ability to add context to a Space. So here are a bunch of things we are working on to make that happen:
End-to-end encrypted notes for Spaces allows everyone to create and edit notes to add extra info, save that quick list, or just act as a journal.
We’ve talked about the Today view before, and we have some enhancements on the way that make it an even better way to quickly add and retrieve content from you Spaces.
The addition of accounts lays the groundwork for us to expand limits and offer the ability to grant larger files and more storage for Spaces. Stay tuned for specifics here, and let us know if there is a certain Space-size/limit that would help you accomplish what you need.
This isn’t an exhaustive list of the upcoming features, but rather just a peek at some of the exciting things on the horizon. We are, quite frankly, so excited for this year. There are projects in the pipeline I’m not even allowed to talk about, I’ve been sworn to secrecy, nobody can know. So stay tuned.
From all of us at Shareup: happy new year and happy sharing.
